Preparations for Diwali festival begin a few days prior to it. As a part of Diwali celebrations, people clean their homes and businesses to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. Shopping for new apparel, accessories, diwali lights, diyas, and sweets, is also part of Diwali celebrations. Around the time of Diwali festival, lots of Diwali offers are available in big and small marketplaces.

The first day of Diwali celebrations is Dhanteras, followed by Choti Diwali, and the Diwali festival. Diwali Celebrations In Schools- Delhi Public School (DPS), Bijnor

Diwali was celebrated at Delhi Public School in Bijnor by organising a variety of competitions for students in classes 1 through 11. Candles that depict the heavenly light of the spirit of truth were decorated by students in grades classes 1 through 3. Class 4 students took part in a competition named "Toran/Bandhanwar Making," which stands for wealth, luck, and good health. The senior wing students in classes 6 through 11 were given the task of designing a Rangoli that symbolises luck, happiness, and optimism.
