The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) determines the JNVST eligibility criteria for Class 9 admission. Only after meeting the JNVST eligibility criteria for class 9, students will be allowed to take the JNVST exam. The JNV selection test can only be taken by eligible students. The NVS admission form class 9 admission has been released by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The Navodaya class 9 exam will be held on February 8, 2025, to admit students to 650 JNV located across 27 States and 8 UT in India. JNVST Class 9 Eligibility Criteria 2025

Before submitting an application for Navodaya Vidyalayas admission class 9, it is crucial for students to understand the criteria they meet in Navodaya eligibility for class 9. They can only apply if they meet the qualifying requirements listed below.

  • Applicants must pass the class 8th exam from a recognized/government board in order to be considered for the JNVST 9th admission test 2025

  • Students must reside & studying in the same district where JNV s functioning and admission is sought.

  • Students taking the test must successfully complete Class 8 from a Govt./Govt. recognized school during the academic year 2024.

  • Students must have been born between May 1, 2010 and July 31, 2012 (both days included) to be eligible for exam. For students in the reserved category, there is no age relaxation.

  • Only Indian Nationals who are studying in India are eligible to apply.

  • Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti reserves the right to refer any student to a medical board for verification of their age in case of any doubt regarding the JNV class 9 age limit.

  • Students belonging to the SC and ST categories must present a caste certificate if they are selected. It is necessary to produce and submit these documents to the Principal of the respective JNV.

JNVST Class 9 Selection Process

  • Two important criteria are taken into account when selecting a student: the student's performance and the supporting documentation.

  • The details of the exam's marks will not be disclosed by the exam authorities.

  • There is no option for re-checking or re-totaling either.

  • Students will only be admitted to Navodaya Vidyalayas for which they will take Navodaya 9th class entrance exam.

  • In the event of a disagreement, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti's (NVS) decision will be considered final.

Hope you are doing well.

No , Everyone falling under the required age criteria for admission is eligible to give entrance exam and then follows the selection procedures.

Also there is some quota for govt, rural & then girl students.

If you are a girl studying in a village, go for JNVST, you will make it. Life at JNVs is fantastic undoubtedly.

Anyone in class 5th ( minimum age 9), 8th ( min age 12) & 10th( age 14) can apply for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

For 5th class students , forms come in September- October on NVS website. Fill it & send to the principal of nearest JNV. You can also get form from nearest JNV office. This test is called JNVST.

For 8th class students, it's called lateral entry test. Forms come usually in March -april . U can get form from NVS website or nearest JNV office.

For 10th class students, there is no test , they take a few students if seats are vacant on basis of 10th %.
