IMO Exam 2025-26 - The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) for students of classes 1 to 12. Students' knowledge of logical reasoning, mathematical reasoning, and everyday mathematics is tested through the SOF International Mathematics IMO Level 1 exam. The foundation conducts a level 2 exam for students studying from classes 3 to 12 who clear the SOF IMO level 1.
- The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducted the International Mathematics Olympiad level 1 exam 2025-26 on November 12, November 28, and December 12, 2025.
- The foundation released the SOF IMO answer key for Set A on December 15, 2025. Set B and Set C were released on December 31, 2025, and January 2, 2026, respectively. Students can use it to compare their answers with the correct ones and calculate the expected scores.
- The foundation released the SOF IMO cut-off 2025-26 on January 14, 2026.
- Students are advised to prepare the IMO syllabus 2025-26 for level 1 to qualify for the exam with good marks.
- Students are advised to solve the IMO sample papers 2025-26 to know the exam pattern and important topics asked in the exams.
- The IMO results 2025-26 were declared online through the official website, sofworld.org, on January 15, 2026.
- SOF will conduct the IMO Level 2 exam on February 8, 2026, for all regions except Maharashtra, and on February 15, 2026, for Maharashtra only.
- The application forms for the IMO exam 2025-26 are issued and submitted at the school level by paying the application fee of Rs 125. No fee is payable for students suffering from any major physical disability or an Indian student whose parent was martyred during defence operations

IMO Important Dates
IMO International Mathematical Olympiad (session 2025)
- The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) declared the IMO result 2025-26 for level 1 on January 15, 2026.
- Students can access the results for IMO online from the official website at sofworld.org.
- Whereas the IMO 2025-26 level 2 results are expected to be released in March 2026.
- SOF will send the IMO 2025-26 result and Student Performance Report (SPR) to the school authorities.
There are no specific eligibility criteria for the IMO exam 2025-26.
- Students studying in Class 1 to 12 are eligible to apply for the SOF IMO 2025-26 exam.
- Level 1 Exam will be held for Class 1 to 12 students.
- Level 2 exams will be held for students from classes 3rd to 12th for SOF IMO.
There will be only one mode to apply for the IMO exam 2025-26 i.e. Offline. Interested students should contact their respective schools. The registration forms will be sent to the school authorities.
- Students must pay an application fee of Rs. 125 per student along with the application form.
- In the case of international students, US$9 is applicable per student. It must be remembered that no student can apply for the IMO 2025-26 registration independently.
- SOF will not accept any application form directly from students. Students should contact their respective schools for their registration.
Documents Required at Exam IMO 2025
International Mathematical Olympiad 2025
- The test duration for level 1 is 60 minutes.
- There will be a total of 35 objective-type questions (MCQs) for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type questions (MCQs) for class 5 to class 12.
- The medium of the SOF IMO exam 2025-26 is English.
- There are separate SOF IMO 2025-26 question papers for each class.
IMO exam 2025-26 consists of four sections-

- Everyday Mathematics

IMO 2025 Syllabus
IMO International Mathematical Olympiad Syllabus
Science Olympiad Foundation releases IMO sample papers for students to make them aware of important aspects like marking scheme, type of questions asked, important topics, etc. Solving IMO 2025-26 sample papers also helps in learning time management skills. The International Maths Olympiad sample papers are created based on the recent exam pattern of the question papers. Students can check their preparation level by solving the IMO 2025-26 sample papers.
The SOF released the IMO level 1 admit card; students could collect it from their respective school authorities. The admit card for the level II exams has been released on January 28, 2026. Students can download the same by visiting the official website of SOF.
The Science Olympiad Foundation IMO level 1 Set A answer key was released on December 16, 2025. The SOF IMO Set B and Set C answer keys were on December 31, 2025, on January 2, 2026. The IMO answer keys 2025-26 will contain the correct answers to each question asked in the IMO exam 2025-26. Students can calculate their estimated scores with the help of the IMO answer key.
The SOF Foundation released the IMO cutoff 2025-26 on January 14, 2026, for the level 1 from Classes 3 to 12. The foundation releases the IMO cutoff on the official website for the level 1 exam. The cutoff marks for the previous years are tabulated below:
