The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the draft date sheet 2026 for CBSE class 12th. As per the National Education Policy 2020, the CBSE 12th exam will begin on the first Tuesday after February 15. Hence, this year, it is expected that the board will conduct the CBSE exam for class 12th from February 17 to April 4, 2026. The draft date sheet does not contain any subject names; however, it uses designations such as "Minor Subject (Exam-1) and Major Subject (Exam-2).

Last year, the CBSE Class 12 practical exam for winter-bound schools was held from November 5 to December 5, 2024, while the practicals for all other CBSE-affiliated schools were held from January 1 to February 14, 2025. Similarly, it is expected that the CBSE board will conduct the practical exams for class 12th around the same date this year as well. Students can contact their respective schools to know about their practical exam dates.
CBSE 12th Date Sheet 2026 for Sports Participants
Students who missed their CBSE 12th board exam due to participating in National/ International sports events get the chance to appear for the English Core, Chemistry, Physical Education, Hindi Elective, and Hindi Core exams. Last year, the board released the CBSE class 12th sports participating students' date sheet on April 2, 2025, while the exam was held on April 11, 2025. For the academic year 2025-26, the board is expected to publish the date sheet for sports participants around the same date.
As per the previous data, the exam for CBSE 12th sport participants will be held in April 2026. The exam is expected to be conducted in a single morning shift (10:30 am to 1:30 pm). Students are advised to reach the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam, i.e., at 10 am. CBSE Class 12 Exam Statistics of Previous Year
In 2025, 1,692,794 students appeared for the CBSE 12th examination, out of which 88.39% students cleared the board exam. In the academic year 2024-25, the overall performance of girls was better than boys. The overall pass percentage of girls was 91.64%, while 85.70% of boys cleared the 12th class.
In 2024, A total number of 16,33,730 students registered, out of which 16,21,224 appeared in the exam. This year, 14,26,420 students managed to clear the exam, making an overall pass percentage of 87.98%. Out of which, the overall pass percentage of boys was 91.52% and the overall pass percentage of girls was 85.12%.
In 2023, the total number of candidates registered was 16,96,770. Out of the total candidates, the number of female and male candidates who had registered was 7,45,433 and 9,51,332, respectively. CBSE conducted the CBSE 12th exams at 6759 centres.

Yes, in the case that you appeared for the 2025 improvement exam and your roll number is different from what was on the previous year’s marksheet, the board will usually release a new migration certificate. This is because the migration certificate will reflect the most recent exam details, roll number and passing year. You can apply to get it from your board using the process prescribed by them either online or through your school/college.

As you have compartment in Mathematics and you wish to change your stream to Humanities you have 2 options from here on:
1. You could try to study and clear your compartment of Mathematics.
2. You can change your stream to Humanities but you will need to repeat from Class 11th so you will need 2 years from now to clear Class 12th.
My personal suggestion will be to choose Option 1. Trust me I have dealt with this feeling myself and wanted to choose Option 2 but I worked hard and cleared my exams. I was scared not only in Mathematics but Physics, Chemistry and even Computer Science.

The GUJCET merit list is calculated by considering 60% of the marks obtained in Class 12 and 40% of the GUJCET score. CBSE students are also eligible to compete with GSEB students, as the merit list is prepared by combining the Class 12 scores with the GUJCET performance.
Merit Calculation:
- The merit list is calculated by combining the scores from both class and the GUJCET exam
- This means that both your performance in the class 12 board exams and the GUJCET exam are considered when determining your rank
CBSE Students and GUJCET:
- CBSE students can appear for the GUJCET exam, even though they are not from the Gujrat Board
- For CBSE students, the 60% weightage for class 12 marks will be based on their performance in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their class 12 board exams
- The remaining 40% weightage will be given to their GUJCET score.
