Over the years, the Board has experienced rapid growth, extending its jurisdiction beyond national borders. The number of schools has increased from just 309 in 1962 to 29,340 schools within India and 257 schools in 25 foreign countries as of June 28, 2024. This total includes 1,247 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 5,280 Government/Aided Schools, 22,408 Independent Schools, 648 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and 14 Central Tibetan Schools.

CBSE Board Exam Application Form 2026

• The CBSE application process is done through an online mode.

• Regular students are required to fill out their CBSE examination application forms through their respective schools, while private students fill them out individually.

• It is mandatory to submit documents along with the requisite application fees with the application form.

• Schools will submit the same to the CBSE Board office for further processing.

CBSE Exam Dates 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the revised theory exam dates for the Class 10 and 12 exams. The CBSE Class 10th and Class 12 exams will be held from February 17 to March 11, 2026, and from February 17 to April 10, 2026, respectively.
