The National Scholarship Portal started the NSP registrations for most scholarships on June 2, 2025, while some registrations started on June 25, 2025. The last date to apply for the NSP scholarship is August 31 and October 31, 2025 (depending on the scholarship). Students can register and apply for the NSP portal central schemes by visiting the official website, scholarships.gov.in. The forms are now available in online mode for students.

Last year, the applications were accepted from July 1 to January 31, 2025 (including extended dates). Eligible students can apply for various scholarship schemes at the central, state and UGC/AICTE levels. They are required to provide accurate and authentic information as mentioned in their original documents. NSP Portal Registration Date 2025-26

The application deadline is based on the NSP scholarship's last date of the respective scheme. Students must apply before the last date of the different schemes.

National Scholarship Portal Registration 2025-26 - Important Guidelines

Interested students who are applying to the NSP 2025-26 portal must follow the points given below.

Applicants applying for the first time must register online only on the NSP portal, scholarships.gov.in.
They should provide accurate and authentic information as printed on their documents
The NSP registration form must be filled out by parents/guardians of students below the age of 18 years on the date of registration.
After submitting the NSP application, the login ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile number.
They also receive the One Time Registration (OTR) through SMS, in case they don't receive then they get it from the NSP's official website.

What is One Time Registration (OTR)?

OTR is the One Time Registration, it is a unique 14-digit number issued based on the Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment ID (EID). This number simplifies the scholarship application process and helps eliminate the need for registration each academic year.

How to Get One-Time Registration (OTR)?

Students who completed the OTP-based eKYC will have the reference number; they need to complete the face authentication to obtain the OTR number. Follow the steps below to generate the OTR number:

Download the AadhaarFaceRD and NSP OTR app through the Play Store.
Open the NSP OTR app and select the 'eKYC with FaceAuth'.
Now, enter the reference number. In case the reference is not available, use 'forgot reference number' to recover it.
Enter the reference number and click on 'Send OTP'.
Fill in the OTP and the Captcha code.
Click on the 'Next' button.
On the next screen, click on the "Proceed for Face Authentication" button.
UIDAI AadhaarFaceRD services will be invoked for face authentication. (Make sure AadhaarFaceRD services are preinstalled).
After the successful completion of authentication, the OTR number will be generated.

How to Register at National Scholarship Portal 2025-26

Students registering at NSP 2025-26 need to follow the given steps to complete the NSP new registration online. Check the NSP Registration 2025-26 through the National Scholarship Portal here.

Visit the official NSP 2025-26 portal at scholarships.gov.in.
On the homepage, click on the “Apply for Scholarship” tab available in the applicant corner.
A new page will open. Click on "Register Yourself".
After that, read all the instructions given on the page carefully and click on ‘next’ to proceed.
Fill in the basic details such as state of domicile, Student name, scholarship category, date of birth and bank account details.
Click on the register to submit the details.
The NSP student login details, like the application number and password, will be sent to the registered mobile number.
