    Assam offers several scholarships for the students who have qualifed HSLC examination or Class 10th from the Assam Board. Along with central bodies and various private organisation the government of Assam provides scholarships after Assam HSLC to financially support the students in their further academic career. These scholarships provide financial aid to students who cannot afford higher education after completing class 10th. Students from weaker backgrounds can avail these Assam scholarships in 2026. Below, we have mentioned some of the scholarships that are available in Assam for students who have passed class 10th.

    Scholarship After Clear HSLC Assam 2026

    Some of the scholarships after the Assam Board HSLC 2026 are the Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme (ARBAS), Tea Tribe scholarship, DHE Assam Combined Merit Scholarship, etc. Students can go through the detailed overview of the scholarships they can get after they have qualified for Class 10. Students can only apply for these Assam scholarships if they fulfil the eligibility criteria.

    Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme (ARBAS)

    It is one of the most popular schemes offered by the Government of Assam. Any student who has passed the Class 10th examination with first division and “start marks”, i.e., 75% from the SEBA board, can apply for this scheme.     Eligibility:

    • Must pass 10th from the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA).

    • Must secure 1st division with start marks (75% or more) in the board examination.

    Tea Tribe Scholarship

    The Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare offer the Tea Tribe Scholarship for students who have completed their class 10th from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community category. The scholarship is offered to support the eligible students who are capable of continuing studies after 10th but can't because of financial problems. Students can visit the official website, ttwd.assam.gov.in, to apply for the Tea Tribe Scholarship.

    Eligibility:

    • Must have cleared 10th class

    • Must belong to the Tea Tribe community in Assam

    North Eastern Council (NEC) Scholarship for North East Students

    The NEC Merit scholarship is for the North East students only. The scholarship is for studies in India only. Any student who is a permanent resident of any of the North-Eastern States can apply for this scholarship. To apply for this scholarship, students can visit the official website of NSP, scholarships.gov.in.

    Eligibility:

    • Students must score at least 60% in the HSLC examination from a recognised state/central board.

    • Permanent resident of North Eastern State.

    • The family's annual income must not exceed Rs 8 lakh.

    DHE Assam Combined Merit Scholarship

    The Department of Higher Education, Assam offer the Combined Merit Scholarship for UG students. Any student who has scored a minimum 60% in the Higher Secondary examination can apply for the Combined Merit Degree Scholarship scheme. The scheme will provide financial assistance of Rs 450 per month.     • Must be a domicile of Assam (PRC document mandatory).

    Post-Matric Scholarship

    After completing HSLC, students can also apply for Post-Matric Scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal. The NSP registration dates for the post-matric scholarship are announced through the official website, scholarships.gov.in. Students are advised to visit the website and start applying for the scholarship.

    Eligibility:

    There are many different scholarships available at NSP. Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria. Students can feel free to apply for any scholarship based on eligibility. They are advised to visit the website and read the eligibility criteria for each post-metric scholarship first, and then apply for it.

    • Eligibility Criteria for Minority Students:
      • Students from these six minority communities, namely Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi (Zoroastrian), who are enrolled in educational institutions in India and meet the other criteria outlined, are eligible to seek the scholarship.

      • Students will receive a post-matric scholarship if their parents' or guardians' yearly income from all sources is not more than INR 2,50,000. They need to provide an income certificate when they join courses that last for more than one year.

      • Students who pursue their education through correspondence/distance/online education systems are also eligible.

    • Eligibility Criteria for Students with Disabilities:

      • Must be a citizen of India.

      • Students who have a disability with at least 40% impairment and possess a disability certificate issued by a qualified medical authority are eligible.

      • A family can get benefits for up to two disabled children. If the second child is a twin, both twins will be eligible for the scholarship under the post-matric scheme.

      • The scholarship for any class is valid for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, they will not receive the scholarship for the second or subsequent years.
