• The student should be a citizen of India.

• Students must be studying in a college/school or university recognised by the government of India or in Uttar Pradesh.

• The school/college of a student must be registered on the UP scholarship portal.

• Candidates must be studying in Class 9 or 10 for the UP pre-matric scholarship.

• Students must be studying in Class 11 or 12 for the UP post-matric scholarship.

• Candidates must be studying in graduation or post-graduation from a college/university recognised by the UP government for post-matric scholarships to students other than the 11th or 12th class.

• Students must belong to the SC/ST category to apply for the UP scholarship.

• The family income of the student must not exceed INR 2 lakhs/annum for UP post-matric scholarship.

• The student’s family income should not exceed INR 1 lakh per annum for the pre-matric scholarship.
