The Karnataka state government has started a scholarship scheme known as the Vidyasiri Scholarship. The Karnataka government has also started a service called ePass (electronic payment and scholarship application system) to make it easy to apply for the Vidyasiri Scholarship 2025-26 and receive the scholarship.

The Department of Backward Classes Welfare of the Government of Karnataka has listed the eligibility requirements to apply for the Vidyasiri scholarship scheme 2025-26. The Vidyasiri eligibility criteria for 2025-26 are as follows:
Should be a citizen of India as well as a permanent resident of Karnataka.
His/her caste should be included in the list of Backward-Classes as stated by the Government of India or State Governments.
Students enrolled in post-high school programmes at government, local, nonprofit, publicly funded, and privately recognised institutions that are affiliated with Karnataka's statutory universities.
The Gross Annual Income of the student’s father/mother/guardian family should be under the following limits:
Rs 2.50 lakh for students of Category I
Rs. 1.00 lakhs for students of Category-2A, 3A and 3B
Students living in rural areas at least 5 km away from the college. Students residing in a city/town but attending colleges in a different city/town are also eligible.
New and Renewal students must obtain the minimum marks mentioned below in the previous year's annual examination to be eligible.

Students who attend the equivalent courses twice are not eligible. (eg: Admission to B.Com after B.A.MA (English) after MA (Kannada), LLB, after B.Ed.etc).
Students attending postgraduate medical courses but practising medicine during the course are not eligible for this facility.
Students who passed Arts, Science, and Commerce courses, Bachelor's or Master's degrees and have changed courses more than once are not eligible.
Only two male members of the same family are eligible for the scheme. However, this restriction does not apply to girls candidates.
Class attendance of each MAH student must be at least 75%.
Vidyasiri scholarship offered in 2025-26 will be distributed category-by-category in a merit-cum-means manner and in accordance with the following reservation:

Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 applications will only be accepted in an online format.
Students have to submit online applications along with prescribed documents and submit a hard copy to the concerned colleges.
College Principals and Inspection Officers will review the application and documents at the relevant level and give confirmation online.
Next, the taluk backward classes welfare officer will check, verify and confirm online.
Now, the district backward classes welfare officer will cross-check the details.
Finally, payment of the sanctioned amount will be directly transferred to the bank account of the concerned student.

Now enter the date of birth, academic year, and application number.
