The Central Board of Secondary Education released the new CBSE 10th Science syllabus 2024-25 on cbseacademic.nic.in. There are a total of 5 units in CBSE Science Class 10 syllabus 2024-25 and each unit contains some chapters. This year, the board has not reduced the CBSE Class 10 syllabus. Questions in CBSE 10th exams will be asked from the topics listed in 13 chapters of CBSE 10th class Science syllabus 2024-25. So, students should prepare with the latest class 10 science syllabus of CBSE board.

CBSE Class 10 Science Syllabus 2024-25 - Topics and Marking Scheme

The CBSE Science theory paper will consist of 80 marks, while 20 marks will be reserved for the internal assessment/practicals. Chemical Substances-Nature and Behaviour and World of Living carry the weightage of 25 marks each and 50 marks in total. So, students must strengthen these units of CBSE 10th syllabus 2024-25.

  1. A) Finding the pH of the following samples by using pH paper/universal indicator:

  • Dilute Hydrochloric Acid
  • Dilute NaOH solution
  • Dilute Ethanoic Acid solution
  • Lemon juice

  • Dilute Hydrogen Carbonate solution (Unit I)

B) Studying the properties of acids and bases (HCl & NaOH) based on their reaction with:

  • Litmus solution (Blue/Red)
  • Zinc metal
  • Solid sodium carbonate (Unit I)
  1. Performing and observing the following reactions and classifying them into:

  1. Combination reaction
  2. Decomposition reaction
  3. Displacement reaction

11) Tracing the path of a ray of light passing through a rectangular glass slab for different angles of incidence. Measure the angle of incidence, angle of refraction, and angle of emergence and interpret the result. (Unit III)

12) Studying (a) binary fission in Amoeba, and (b) budding in yeast and Hydra with the help of prepared slides (Unit II)

13) Tracing the path of the rays of light through a glass prism (Unit III)

14) Identification of the different parts of an embryo of a dicot seed (Pea, gram or red kidney bean). (Unit II)

Yes, you can apply for 12th grade as a private candidate .You will need to follow the registration process and fulfill the eligibility criteria set by CBSE for private candidates.If you haven't given the 11th grade exam ,you would be able to appear for the 12th exam directly without having passed 11th grade. you will need to give certain tests in the school you are getting addmission to prove your eligibilty.

According to cbse norms candidates who have completed class 10th, class 11th, have a gap year or have failed class 12th can appear for admission in 12th class.for admission in cbse board you need to clear your 11th class first and you must have studied from CBSE board or any other recognized and equivalent board/school.

You are not eligible for cbse board but you can still do 12th from nios which allow candidates to take admission in 12th class as a private student without completing 11th.
