CBSE Class 10th Exam Date:17 Feb' 26 - 17 Feb' 26
The CBSE is implementing a two-exam policy for Class 10 to reduce pressure and provide flexible opportunities to students. So, most of the students are confused about the CBSE 10th syllabus. They want to know whether the CBSE syllabus for the first and second phase will be the same or if it will be divided between both terms. They should know that the CBSE first phase (February–March) and the CBSE second phase (May-June) exams will cover the full syllabus. There is no syllabus bifurcation between the two phases.

The Board has confirmed that both phases of the CBSE Class 10 exams, starting from 2026 onwards, will be based on the full, identical syllabus. Students need not search for separate syllabi for each phase; the syllabus remains the same. The CBSE 10th exam pattern and question format will remain the same, but the questions themselves will be different.

CBSE has introduced the dual-exam system to reduce exam pressure by allowing students two attempts in one year. The First Phase is mandatory, while the Second Phase is optional, aimed at improving performance in up to three subjects. The CBSE 12th syllabus remains unchanged, requiring the same preparation for both phases. The above syllabus is the same for the CBSE 10th phase 2 exams.
Internal assessments and practical evaluations will continue as a single evaluation per academic year, unaffected by the two-phase system. The new system enables students to prepare for their exams using the complete CBSE Class 10 syllabus in a single instance. If the performance in the first phase is not as good as students’ expectations, they have a second opportunity to retake the exam without having to study new material. This second attempt provides a genuine chance to improve the scores without the added pressure of an altered curriculum. Additionally, CBSE ensures that the question patterns and marking schemes remain consistent across both phases.
