The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) conducts Senior Secondary examination (Class 12th) twice a year. Like other educational boards, NIOS has also established NIOS Class 12 pass criteria and subject offerings. NIOS Board is a recognised alternative to regular schooling. However, to qualify for the NIOS Class 12 certificate, students must meet certain minimum pass mark criteria.

To be declared passed in the NIOS Class 12 exams or NIOS Senior Secondary Course, the following criteria must be met:
