Students must keep track of the Sainik School counselling 2026 dates. The number of Sainik School counselling rounds will depend on various factors, such as the number of students accepting, reconsidering, or exiting the process.

Note: As per the reservation policy, 67% of seats are allocated for candidates from their home state, while 33% of seats are reserved for students from other states. The entire AISSAC counselling process is done online. Once the seats are allotted to the students, they will have to appear for the medical exam. If a student fails to appear or qualify for the medical round, then their admission will be rejected by the board. The admission to Sainik School 2026 will be purely merit-based, depending on the student's performance in written and medical exams.

Steps to Fill the e-Counselling Form for Sainik School 2026

• For registration and choice filling, go to mes.ncog.gov.in/sainikschoolecounselling.

• Here, enter the application number on the portal.

• Now, your verification is done.

• On the next page, students will receive a time password on the registered mobile number and email.

• Enter the OTP and set the password.

• Here, the signup process is completed.

• Now, sign in to the portal using the application number (user ID) and password set by them.

• On the next page, check and confirm the details, the registration will be completed.

• On the next page, students can change their Domicile and Gender in case they have entered the wrong information. After that, review your details and click on ‘Confirm Registration’ and click on OK for final submission.

• All credentials will be shown after completing the registration.

Sainik School e Counselling 2026 - Choice Filling

The registration and choice filling is free of cost. It is mandatory to complete it before the deadline. The choice filling will be based on the combination opted by the students during the registration process of AISSEE. After completion of registration, go to the choice filling option given in the left corner. Here, click on the ADD (+) to select your preferred Sainik schools.

After that, in the given boxes, students can add their preferred sainik schools. Up to 10 Sainik schools can be filled in the choice.

Once the preferences are set, click on the ‘Lock the Choices’ button.

Sainik School Counselling 2026 - Factors to Consider

Students appearing for the Sainik School e-counselling should know the various factors that are considered during seat allotment. Below, we have provided some factors that are considered in the Sainik School e-counselling:

• Domicile of the students.

• Category of students (Gen, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, DEF) and gender.

• All India Ranks of students in the respective list.

• The order of the Sainik school is preferred by the students.

• Availability of seats in different categories for which the student is eligible.

What After Seat Allotment?

After the seat allotment, students will have three options: Accept, Reconsider, and Exit. They can choose any option as per their preference before the last date of the given round. In case the student fails to decide before the allotted time, then their seat will be cancelled, and it will be considered that the student is not interested in the counselling process.

• Accept: If the student accepts the allotted Sainik school seat, then he/she will have to proceed with the further admission process, i.e., the medical exam and document verification.

• Reconsider: Students who are not satisfied with their allotted seat can choose to reconsider their options and participate in the next round of counselling. In this case, the allotted seat will automatically be cancelled, and no further claim will be admissible.

• Exit: If a student decides to choose exit means they are not interested in the e-counselling process of Sainik School. They have opted out of the counselling process and will not be able to participate in further admission processes.

Sainik School e-Counselling Merit List

The merit list for the Sainik School e-counselling process will be released after the completion of the registration process. The merit list will be based on the student's performance in the written exam, followed by the medical test. Once the merit list is published through the official website, selected students can proceed with the admission process by submitting the required documents and paying the admission fee.
