AISSEE Class 6th Eligibility Criteria 2026-27

• Nationality- Only Indians could apply for admission, as per AISSEE 2026-27 eligibility criteria.

• Gender- Boys and girls both could apply. Admission for girls is subject to the availability of vacancies for Class 9 admission.

• Age Limit- The student's age should be between 13-15 years, as on March 31, 2026. The student should have been born between April 1, 2011 and March 31, 2013 (including both days).

• Education Qualification- Students should have passed Class 8 from a recognised school at the time of admission.

New Sainik School Admission Criteria

Admission at New Sainik Schools is provided at the Class 6 level for the academic year 2026-27. Here is the eligibility for both routes of admission at New Sainik Schools.

Eligibility Requirements for New Sainik Schools Under 40% Route

• A student should be 10-12 years old as of March 31, 2026. The student should have been born between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2016 (including both days) for the academic year 2026-27.

Eligibility Requirements for New Sainik Schools Under 60% Route

• A student should be 10-12 years old as of March 31, 2026, for admission to Class 6. The student should have been born between April 1, 2014, and March 31, 2016 (including both days) for the academic year 2026-27.

• A student should be studying in the approved New Sainik School where he is seeking admission and must have passed/appeared in Class 5 as of March 31, 2026.

Sainik School Admission Process for Girls

The NTA Sainik school admission process for girls is the same as for boys; they can get admission in Class 6. It is required to fulfil the Sainik school age limit for class 6 before filling out the form. Girls are required to clear the written exam, then appear in the online counselling and after that medical examination will be done. • Admission to Sainik Schools will be granted based on AISSEE 2026-27 eligibility criteria and the performance of students in the written test & medical exam.

• Sainik School 2026-27 application forms are available online on exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society/ and nta.ac.in

• Students fulfilling Sainik School eligibility criteria 2026-27 can apply for the AISSEE 2026-27 admission test, which includes a written exam, interview and medical examination.

• Documents, along with the application fee, have to be submitted. The AISSEE 2026 application fee is INR 850 (Rupees Eight Hundred Fifty only) for General, OBC (NCL) as per the central list, and wards of defence personnel and ex-servicemen, while it is INR 700 (Rupees Seven Hundred only) for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

• The mode of payment is online. This can be done either by debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

• No hard copy of the application form is accepted by the exam conducting authority.
