The Sainik School Society conducts its selection process in two rounds. The first round consists of a written test. Those who qualify in the first round will be invited to take the AISSAC (E-counselling session) and a subsequent second round of medical tests. Students should be aware that the body responsible for conducting the exam establishes medical requirements that registrants must meet. Students will be assigned seats at Sainik School after they clear both rounds. The final merit list of Sainik School Kunjpura will be published in June 2026.

The Sainik School reservations 2026 are determined by the exam conducting body based on specific criteria. For comprehensive details regarding reservations, refer to the following information:
15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC),
7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST)
27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy layer (OBC-NCL) as per the central list.
Thus, according to the aforementioned lines, 49.50 per cent of the seats at Sainik School are reserved.
A 25 per cent reservation is made for the wards of defence personnel and ex-servicemen from the balance of 50.50% of the seats reserved for the Home State/ UT and Other State/ UT quotas.
Sainik Schools reserve in each Class VI either 10% of their vacancies or 10 seats for girls, whichever is higher.
