The CBSE Class 12 marking scheme combines marks and grades as follows:
Every subject is allocated a maximum of 100 marks.
Practical subjects (such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) consist of 70 marks for theory and 30 marks for practical exams.
Commerce subjects (Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics) have 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for project work.
Mathematics includes 80 marks for the written exam and 20 marks for internal assessment.
