The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the revised CBSE 12th marking scheme 2026. The CBSE Class 12 exams 2026 will tentatively begin on February 17, 2026, and end on April 9, 2026. The tentative CBSE 12th date sheet 2026 has been released on September 24, 2025, while the final date sheet will be released in November 2025. Students must download the CBSE 12th marking scheme for arts, commerce, and science streams from the CBSE official website, cbse.gov.in and cbseacademic.nic.in and start preparing for the final exams.

The CBSE Class 12 marking scheme combines marks and grades as follows:

  • Every subject is allocated a maximum of 100 marks.

  • Practical subjects (such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) consist of 70 marks for theory and 30 marks for practical exams.

  • Commerce subjects (Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics) have 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for project work.

  • Mathematics includes 80 marks for the written exam and 20 marks for internal assessment.
