Students can download the JKBOSE date sheet 2026 online through the official website. They can follow the steps to download the JKBOSE 8th exam dates 2026.

• From the dashboard, click on the ‘Date Sheet’ tab.

JKBOSE Soft Zone and Hard Zone

JKBOSE divides its exam schedule into two zones: soft zone and hard zone. This categorisation is based on various factors like geographical location, security concerns, and infrastructure. Soft zone exams, held earlier in the year in areas with better infrastructure and security, have their dates announced in January.

Hard zone exams, on the other hand, are held later in the year in areas with potential challenges and are announced in February. JKBOSE releases separate date sheets for both zones and conducts them in different time frames, with the possibility of adjustments based on local conditions and security concerns.

Approximately 444 schools across Jammu and Kashmir, including seven zones in the Kargil district and the entire Ladakh region, have been categorised as 'hard zones.' In the Kashmir division, 155 schools from districts like Anantnag, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kulgam, and Budgam are designated as hard zones. Similarly, in the Jammu division, 251 schools from districts such as Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, and Udhampur are classified as hard zones.
