Difference Between Verification and Revaluation?

Verification of Marks involves the CBSE checking for clerical errors in totaling marks on your answer sheet. There is no re-assessment of your answers themselves. Re-evaluation is when an examiner reassesses the answer. It's a more in-depth process than verification.

CBSE Class 12th Verification

  • The CBSE Verification process is initiated by students who are dissatisfied with their grades and suspect errors were made during the evaluation.

  • There is a possibility that grades may either increase or decrease after rechecking. If there is an improvement in grades, students will receive an error letter from CBSE.

  • The rechecking process solely involves recalculating marks.

  • Examiners have the authority to review the marks assigned by previous examiners.

  • Students are only required to identify calculation errors made by the most recent examiner.

  • CBSE 12th students are eligible to request a recheck of their scores for any subject.

CBSE Class 12th Revaluation

Revaluation encompasses the examination of a particular subject or paper. Within this procedure, there are three distinct stages: mark verification, Photocopy of the answer sheet, and Revaluation of answers. The revaluation process is carried out by a different examiner, who assigns new marks based on the assessment of any evaluation errors.

However, it is crucial to keep in mind that the revaluation process may result in an increase, decrease, or no change in the marks obtained. To avoid the rejection of their applications, students should ensure that they fill out the application form accurately and without any errors.
